1986 OmegaTribeのファースト・アルバム「Navigator」今年限りじゃない
It was a shocking debut.

It's the spring of 1986.
1986オメガトライブ。
それは、1986年の春です。
This is because Shinji Takashima and Toshitsugu Nishihara, who were members of "Kiyotaka Sugiyama & Omega Tribe" who disbanded in 1985, inherited the name of "Omega Tribe" and formed a group.
Is it a band, a group, or a project? There may be various backgrounds, but at that time I couldn't understand the circumstances behind the scenes. So, I simply thought "This is good!" To the joy of "Omega Tribe never ended" and the singing voice of new vocalist Carlos Toshiki.
The debut song "Kimi wa 1000%" was a big hit.
I listened to it on the radio. Moreover, because it is an AM radio, I feel that the unique response and the depth unique to monaural have amplified the resort feeling. I was instantly captivated.
1985年に解散してしまった「杉山清貴＆オメガトライブ」のメンバーだった高島信二さんと西原俊次さんが『オメガトライブ』の名前を継承してグループを結成したからです。
バンドなのか、グループなのか、プロジェクトか。いろいろ背景はあるのでしょうが、当時は裏事情は察することなどできませんでした。ですから、シンプルに「オメガトライブは終わらなかった」という喜びと、新しいヴォーカルのカルロス・トシキさんの歌声に「これいい！」と思えました。
デビュー曲「君は1000％」は大ヒット。
ラジオで聴きました。しかもAMラジオなので、独特の反響とモノラルならではの奥行きがリゾート感を増幅させた気がします。一瞬で虜になりました。
ラジオでは高島さんが「来年になっても1986オメガトライブです」というような発言をしていて、それが頼もしく感じられました。つまり、
今年限りじゃないんだな、と。
夏にアルバムが出ると、それはもう、すぐに聴きたくて聴きたくて、即購入です。
レコードジャケットを机の隅に飾っていました。

When the album comes out in the summer, I want to hear it right away, so I buy it immediately.
I had a record jacket in the corner of my desk.
The first song on the album is medium tempo.
I felt enthusiasm that I would compete as an album artist.
Even though it's my debut album, I don't feel too enthusiastic about it, but rather I have a great expectation that it will relax and listen to full-scale performances.
The blockbuster song "Kimi wa 1000%", which is the signboard, is the first song on the B side of the record.
The A side, which was felt like a loose ballad album, is over, and it is turned over. Finally, finally. At last, you are 1000%.
I felt like I wanted to fly, but I couldn't fly, which was the climax at once.
I had never used a waterbed, but I was listening to it while imagining what it would look like if I lay down on the waterbed.
アルバムの1曲目は、ミディアムテンポ。
アルバムアーティストとして勝負するんだな、と意気込みを感じました。
デビューアルバムだからといって気合を入れすぎず、むしろリラックスして本格的な演奏を聴かせてくれるんだろうなという大きな期待感です。
看板となる大ヒット曲「君は1000％」は、レコードB面の1曲目。
ゆるやかなバラードアルバムのような構成に感じられていたA面が終わって、ひっくり返します。やっとですよ、やっと。やっと、君は1000％。
飛ばしたくなる気分が、なかなか飛ばせずにいたのが、一気に最高潮になります。
ウォーターベッドを利用したことはありませんでしたが、ウォーターベッドで寝転がったらこんなイメージかなと勝手に想像しながら聴いていました。
ゆるやかに気分が上昇していくアルバムです。
A面ラストを飾る「Night Child」は、極上のバラードです。
B面に変えれば、いきなり「君は1000％」
いえ、むしろ、ようやく「君は1000％」で最高潮！
待ちに待ったクライマックスというか。
待たされたぶん、気分が最高です。
ライブも観たいなと思いました。
It's an album that slowly raises your mood.
"Night Child" that decorates the A side last is the best ballad.
